Street Photographer and Documentalist, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. Through her lens, Cecilia captures the tapestry of Mexican life, from deeply rooted traditions to ever-changing urban landscapes. For her, photography is a medium of self-discovery where she connects with people and creates narratives of resistance.
Her work is characterized by a constant exploration of Mexico’s vast territory. Cecilia embraces the streets, from inland regions to urban centers, making visible the stories and struggles of the people. She explores multiple themes, including nostalgia, the representation of pain, and the concept of death, which she considers essential for understanding identity within a constantly transforming society.
With years of experience as a teacher, curator, and exhibitor in Mexico and abroad, Cecilia continues to inspire others to pursue their dreams and share their visions. She is a member of @la_estrit.
Her work has been exhibited in various galleries throughout Mexico, including the Museo de San Ildefonso, Mexico City; the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Luis Potosí; and the San Pedro Art Museum, Puebla. Internationally, her work has been shown in Argentina, Italy, Malaysia, and most recently in Brooklyn, New York, and at the Assembly exhibition at the Mexico Street Photo Fest in Querétaro in 2024.
Their work has been featured in various publications, including the book Carnaval (State of Hidalgo, 2010-2011), BEX MAGAZINE (Argentina, 2011), and the book Short Street Stories (Italy, 2019). Additionally, their work was selected for inclusion in the SEP educational exercise in Mexico. 2020-2028
Additionally, her photography appeared in the zine Myeyegotlazy (Manhattan, N.Y., 2023) and volumes #12 and #13 of Eyeshot, which focuses on street and documentary photography (Bologna, Italy, 2024).
