Ximena Echagüe is a Belgian-Argentinian documentary and street photographer currently based in Brussels and always on the move, capturing the essence of life through her lens.

Ximena’s work has been exhibited in over 20 countries across Europe, America, and Asia. Her portfolio includes 5 solo exhibitions (including at the European Parliament in Brussels and the United Nations in New York) and more than 80 group exhibitions.

Recognized by prestigious publications such as The New York Times, BBC News, and The Washington Post, her photography has also been featured in Fotografiska NYC, Leica Fotografie International, L’Oeil de la Photographie, LensCulture, National Geographic, among many others.

She was nominated for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award in 2021.

Ximena’s commitment to promoting and supporting other artists is evident through her roles as a curator, jury member, and producer, as well as her mentorship in “La Vie en Bleu,” a residency and photographic exhibition program in Nice, France.

In 2024, she released her first book titled “TRAPPED,” published by Daylight Books, which was awarded by the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP).

Part of her photographic work is included in the collections of the Museum of the City of New York and the International Center of Photography in New York, as well as in the collections of various private collectors.
