Contest call 2024

1.-The contest is open to photographers who are 18 years old or older (by the time of entry), of any nationality, regardless of their experience in street photography.

2.- Photographs must be captured spontaneously and in public spaces.

3.- Photographs must be originals, of the photographer’s authorship and can not be generated artificially e.g. by AI programs, digital edition, etc. Metadata will be verified.

4.- Photographs can be in color or black and white.

5.- There are no restrictions on the model, type or brand of camera used. Photographs captured with cell phones, film or digital cameras are all accepted.

6.- The time period of the photographs is irrelevant, but recently captured photographs are encouraged.

Photos that contain sexually explicit, nude, obscene, violent or other objectionable or inappropriate content, as determined by the Festivals curatorship in its sole discretion, are ineligible for this contest.

7.- Photographs with watermarks, signatures, frames, etc. will not be accepted.

8.- Photographs must comply with the following requirements:

• Format: .jpeg, web page optimized, sRGB color space.
• Dimensions and file size: 1600 pixels of the largest side. No larger than 1.5 MB per photo.
• File name: each photograph must be registered with the following format in the file name:
  • Name_LastName_ImageNumber.
  • Examples:
    • If the entrant has 1 name: Luis_Padilla_Gonzalez_1
    • If the entrant has 2 names or 2 last names:
      • Luis_Alberto_Padilla_Gonzalez_1
    • If the entrant submits more than one photo:
      • Luis_Padilla_Gonzalez_1
      • Luis_Padilla_Gonzalez_2
      • Luis_Padilla_Gonzalez_3

2.- Agree to Terms and Conditions.

3.- Select the corresponding bundle depending on the number of photographs to submit:

Bundle A: 1 photo x $5 USD

Bundle B: 3 photos x $12 USD

Bundle C: 5 photos x $18 USD + 1 complimentary photo

4.- Complete the submission process to register your photos.

5.- Follow our website instructions to make your payment.

IMPORTANT: If you encounter any issues during the submission process, email us at contacto@mxstreetphotofest.com with the following information

• Subject: Contest inscription
• Body:
  • Full name.
  • Nationality.
  • Type of bundle you want to purchase.
  • Problem description.

You will receive a follow-up email with instructions for manual submission, alongside your payment order for the corresponding bundle.

New Deadline: October 1st!

1.-Finalists will be selected after an evaluation of all compliant photographs by our jury panel.

2.- Only 1 photograph per finalist may be selected.

3.- The decision will be notified to participants through the email registered during the submission process. It is the contestant’s responsibility to make sure that all personal information is correctly submitted.

Said email will notify them as finalists, as well as the requirements for a printing file.

4.- Once the notification email has been sent, finalists will have a 3 working-days time limit to share their file and information with the corresponding requirements. If MSPF does not receive a reply within this time limit, the photograph will be automatically disqualified, giving way to the next finalist.

5.- The 20 finalist photographs will be exhibited at the MACQ (Museum of Contemporary Art of Queretaro).

What to do if I’m selected as one of the 20 finalists?

• You will receive an email letting you know that your work has been selected as one of the 20 best photographs.
• You will have to send your work’s original file in JPEG format and sRGB color space to our email.

1.-Winners will be officially announced on October 26, 2024 at the contest exhibition opening.

2.- The top 3 best photographs will be chosen by our jury panel.

Winners will be officially announced on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the contest exhibition opening at the MACQ (Museum of Contemporary Art of Queretaro), as well as through our website, social media and through a livestream of the exhibition opening.

1.- MXSPF 2024 International Street Photography Contest will feature 7 judges organized as follows:

• Semifinalists selection
  • Latife Baudet / France
  • Víctor Vargas / Mexico
  • David Shokoubeen / Germany

• Finalists and contest winners (20 photographs):
  • Callie Eh / Malaysia
  • Fermín Guzmán / Mexico
  • Mark Alor Powell / USA
  • Ximena Echague / Argentina

• The finalist and winners panel will name a president that will hold the decisive vote in case of a tie

2.- The decisions of judges are final.

3.- The MXSPF organizing team has no influence on the jury’s decisions.

1.-The 20 finalist photographs will be printed and exhibited as part of the 2024 MX Street Photo Fest activities at the MACQ (Museum of Contemporary Art of Queretaro).

2.- The three first places chosen by the jury will be awarded with the following prizes sponsored by Sony Alpha:

• 1st place: Sony A 6400 camera + 16-50 mm lens
• 2nd place: Sony A 6100 camera + 16-50 mm lens
• 3rd place: Sony ZV-1F camera

3.- Prizes shipping will start on Monday, November 25.

4.- The festival waives any issues that may arise from the following circumstances during shipping:

• Damage or mistreatment by the courier service.
• Loss by the courier service.
• Any mistakes of the shipping information submitted by the winner.
• Legal, customs and climatological restrictions and limitations. As well as any restrictions and limitations that may arise from socio-political conditions pertaining to each country
