Judge 2024
My name is Fermín Guzmán, and I am a street photographer. I was born in Mexico City, although I have always lived on the outskirts of the great city in a municipality called Chimalhuacán, EDOMEX.
My work always references urban life and the neighborhood, aiming to showcase what happens in the eastern cities of Mexico City, Chimalhuacán, Nezahualcóyotl, and Texcoco.
I have participated in various group exhibitions in Mexico, the United States, Italy, India, and Peru.
In 2023, I curated the “Mexico” issue presented by the prestigious Eyeshot Magazine.
In 2022, I received an honorable mention in the Open Call competition organized by Eyeshot Magazine.
In 2018, I was a recipient of the “Jóvenes Creadores” program by FONCA.
In 2010, I was selected for the XIV Photography Biennial in Mexico City. That same year, I received scholarships from the Tierney Foundation in New York, the Fotoensayo Training Program in Hidalgo, and the FOCAEM Scholarship from EDOMEX.
