Priscila Lira is a Brazilian photographer whose work spans portraiture, artistic photography, and abstract street photography, with a constant exploration of the image as a medium for artistic expression. A graduate of the International Institute of Photography, where she studied under renowned photographer Danilo Russo, who worked with Vogue Italia, Priscila has developed a unique experimental approach that has earned her recognition, including a feature in Vogue Italia and participation in the Transmodern Art Week in her hometown of Santos.

During the pandemic, Priscila deepened her studies in expanded photography, creating the series Expandidos, which was captured using long-exposure videoclips. Her work also includes published photographs in L’artechemiPiace Contempo Arte.

Priscila’s series Espelhados gained notable recognition when it was featured in A Casa em Revista, a prestigious publication in Rio de Janeiro’s art scene. Her work also found a powerful expression in public art; a mural in São Paulo’s Vila Madalena, created by the visual artist André Hulk, depicts an image Priscila captured during her immersion in Indigenous culture. The photograph, a portrait of a Guarani curumim, was transformed into street art that transcends the original photo, becoming a piece of cultural resistance and highlighting the importance of Indigenous representation in urban spaces.

In addition to her personal work, Priscila is the founder of @streetphotographybrazil, a global platform that connects street photographers from around the world.

Her photography challenges conventional narratives, offering images that push the boundaries of visual perception with abstract street photography. Through reflections in puddles, windows, and urban surfaces, her work transforms everyday scenes into visual compositions that invite the viewer to reconsider the way they perceive time and space.

Priscila Lira continues to break the boundaries of traditional photography, capturing fleeting moments and turning them into poetic and experimental visual statements.
