Rodrigo Vargas was born in Lisbon in 1986, he embarked on his professional photography journey in 2013. His passion for the craft led him to participate in street photography workshops with renowned photographers such as Matt Stuart (London, 2019) and Stuart Paton (Lisbon, 2019). In 2020, he deepened his expertise by attending the Narrativa Masterclass led by Mário Cruz. The following year, he joined a documentary photography course taught by António Pedrosa.
In 2021, he earned the Master’s Scholarship in Artistic Photography from the IPCI in Lisbon.
In 2022 he was one of the founding members of NARRATIVA, a Lisbon-based association focused on photography, offering workshops, a photography library and a gallery, also focused on supporting emerging talent.
He was selected for the Vila Franca de Xira Photography Biennale in both 2022 and 2024.
In 2023, he was honored in the Fnac New Talents Awards, securing a spot in the photography category.
He was distinguished once again in 2023 and 2024 at the CEFT’s Territory Photography Contest.
