Photographs that, through blurring, explore what lies at the edges of clarity.

Inauguration

October 23, 2026

Closing date November 22, 2026

Slightly Out of Focus, curated by Juan Carlos Reyes, will present an exhibition that, through images that drift toward the subtly out-of-focus, explores what happens on the fringes of clarity: gestures, atmospheres, and moments that are implied rather than explained. El recorrido invitará a una lectura abierta, donde la interpretación dependerá de la apreciación del observador.

Andrew Glickman

United States

My first deeply personal street photography project began in the late 1990s when I began photographing along my daily commute between home and my job. I realized back then that I especially wanted to photograph what I was seeing in my everyday life, particularly in the city that I called home (Washington, D.C.) and as I traveled to and from New York City (where I am originally from). More recently, I lived briefly and photographed in London. Living in busy Holborn rekindled my passion for photographing life on the street. As I looked through my work there, and photographs I made after I returned home, many of the images that resonate most deeply are of people connecting with other people. For me, these moments serve as reminders that the rising tide of polarization and alienation is not preordained. From these photographs, I began working on a series titled Interconnections. Because I’m generally working on multiple projects simultaneously, I’m also working on a new series of photographs on my post-pandemic commute, tentatively titled Interstices.

Daniel Taveira

Brazil

(15 years) Documentary/street photography. "Photographic curiosity is one of the essential components of existential healing, oscillating between the harsh and the sublime. For me, photography solidifies cruel reality; at other times, it portrays the false beauty of existence itself, where our subconscious begins to work appreciatively. When I’m on the street, it has the power to elude me and traumatize me, quickly immersing me in the deafening silence of the obvious, because I feel as though I’m documenting reality and illusion.”

Giedo Van Der Zwan

Netherlands

Vision:

Giedo’s positive and slightly romantic view on life is strongly reflected in his photography. He photographs small, wonderful moments of people in connection with their environment and in this way, he tells us his own story: through his eyes, you can feel that all the beauty that we need is just around us. His approach is to photograph people from very close, but he is not a portrait photogapher; his focus is on the beautiful, strange, magical connections that pop up everywhere, all the time. To control the way he depicts these connections, he uses a Leica with manual settings, a wide-angle lens and a flash. Giedo works very close to his subjects. With carefully composed images, smart juxtapositions and a feel for the right moment, he shows us a bright colorful world that we all like to live in. Awards: Since he started in street photography in 2016, Giedo has been nominated, finalist and won many awards, all over the world. From the bigger well-known street photography festivals like Brussels, Dublin, London, Miami, Paris, Rome, Siena, Trieste, to global award institutes like Lensculture, Life Framer, AAP, Independent Photographer and many smaller awards in several continents. In his own country he has been awarded twice at the honorable award of ‘de Zilveren Camera’.

Jair Hernández

Mexico

I discovered photography while living in Panama; at that time, most of my photos were in black and white. Six years ago, I moved back to Mexico, where I began to see and photograph in color.

I use photography as a form of meditation; it’s a way for me to disconnect and be 100% present. I seek out unique, once-in-a-lifetime moments in the ordinary moments of daily life. Photography has helped me find beauty in the small details, but above all, it has taught me to see and appreciate every single moment.

My main interests are street photography, documentary photography, and portraits.

Life is already complicated enough. So I want my street photos to do the opposite — to make you feel alive and put a smile on your face.

In addition, modern life feels increasingly too "optimized" and "organized." Therefore, I am drawn to the random moments where that order breaks down.

However, I seek beyond simple visual coincidences. What interests me is the layer of meaning underneath.

Fundamentally, I believe there are "unpolished diamonds" buried in the busyness of everyday life.

My ideal street photo captures just that and reminds us that Life is worth every second.

Kasia Trojak

Poland / United States

I have been photographing on the street for the last decade in countries such as Cuba, Mexico, Ghana, Poland, and the USA. I believe that street and documentary photography are the most art inspiring types of photography. I tend to focus on people and explore ideas of mis/placement, authenticity, and belonging. Street photography is one of the best ways to explore and interact with the world and the people around them.

Omar Brest

Argentina

A street photographer with a visceral, intuitive, and poetic approach. His work focuses on the ephemeral, the discarded, and what often goes unnoticed in the city of Buenos Aires. He views photography as a form of reaction to the world and as an existential act: a way of leaving a record of having been alive. He advocates for conscious, critical street photography with a Latin American identity, where intention and perspective carry more weight than technique. His work explores death, memory, disappearance, and the city as an inner mirror.

Raúl Cañibano

Cuba | Spain

Raúl Cañibano was born in Havana on August 10, 1961, and graduated as a welding technician, beginning his career in this field in 1984. He entered the world of photography as a self-taught artist in 1990 after discovering a photographer of the stature of Alfredo Sarabia, producing his first works experimentally, which were later featured in national magazines of the time. By studying the work of great masters of painting and photography such as Cartier-Bresson, Sebastián Salgado, and Salvador Dalí, he gradually developed his own style, marked by the surrealist movement, to which he feels drawn. At this time, the so-called “Special Period” began in the country, characterized by a profound crisis that led to a shortage of photographic materials in general and greatly hindered the development of his work in the early days.

He began his series “Tierra Guajira” in 1998, winning the National Photography Salon Award the following year. This work, through which he pays homage to the Cuban peasant, is an anthropological series that recalls his own experiences, having spent part of his childhood in the eastern rural region of Cuba.

He has also produced several other series, such as “Ciudad,” “Fe por San Lázaro,” and “Ocaso,” which have been featured in major publications including: “100 Years of Photography in Cuba,” “Asahicamara, Japan,” “In the Heart and Soul of Cuba,” The New York Times, USA, and “Take Magazine03,” Sydney, Black & White magazine, The Leica Camera Blog, among many others. In the heart and soul of Cuba ¨, New York Time, USA,  ¨ Take Magazine 03,¨ Sydney, , Black & White magazine, The  Leica cámara Blog,  entre muchas otras.

He has published two books: the first by the Spanish publisher “La Fábrica” in the Foto Bolsillo series, and the second, “Absolut Cuba,” by the Austrian publisher Lammerhubert.

His work has also been exhibited worldwide at venues such as the Fototeca de Cuba, Casa de las Américas in Madrid, Spain, the Royal National Theater, London, Arles Festival, France, Nordic Light Photography Festival, Kristiansund, Norway, Frankstone Arts Center, Melbourne, Australia, Robert Mann Gallery, NY, USA, Throckmorton Fine Art, NY, USA, The Photographer’s Gallery sale room in London, etc.

In October 2022, he was invited to participate with one of his photographs in the annual week when Magnum Photos holds sales of small-format prints, which that year were presented in square format to mark the 75th anniversary of the agency’s founding. This year, 2026, another of his photographs will also be part of this collaboration.

He has taught workshops both in Cuba and in other countries such as Spain, Mexico, France, and Belgium.

He is a documentary photographer and has collaborated with CNN Digital, US. A member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), his work is part of the Cuban Image Fund, as well as major public collections such as the National Museum of Fine Arts and the ICP, and private international collections.

Richard Bram

United States | United Kingdom

For over 40 years, the American/British photographer Richard Bram has been walking the streets of the world in search of the special moments of everyday life. He has worked on large public events and intimate private moments, always looking for the significant gesture to animate his photographs. His approach is straight: In black & white or color, he doesn't set up a photo or alter the scene. The photograph is either there or it is not.

Born in Philadelphia, USA, in 1952, Bram has been a professional photographer since 1984. He is a founding member of UP Photographers, the first international street photography collective. In addition to being regularly published in traditional and digital magazines, he writes and lectures on street photography. Three books of his work have been published, "Richard Bram: Street Photography" (2006), “Richard Bram: NEW YORK” (2016),“Short Stories” (2020) exhibition catalog, as well as the zine "The Red Cube," the subject of his 2025 exhibition at the Centro Fotográfico Manuel Álvarez Bravo in Oaxaca, México.

In 2020, Bram received the honor of a major solo retrospective exhibition at the Mannheimer Kunstverein in Mannheim, Germany. His work has been seen in over forty solo and group exhibitions around the world, and is part of major museum collections in America and Europe. He now makes his home on the banks of the River Thames in Limehouse, where he observes the water, light, and air of that great river.

Roger Janssen

Netherlands

Roger is an urban street photographer who is always on the hunt for that special light. 6 AM hazy summer mornings, windforce 8 snow blizzards with -10°C temperatures at night, and chilly foggy autumn blue hours is when you can find him roaming the streets searching for that special light. There he'll be fishing for that one lonely street dweller to pass through his frame to capture that unique fleeting glimpse in time. He tries to blend the light with the colors and mix it in with some little human element against the backdrop of gorgeous Amsterdam.

When he is hunting instead of fishing he tries to capture raw, fun, or extreme moments where it is all about capturing emotion.

Stéphane Kyndt

France

Began his career as a school photographer, later working as a paparazzo in Los Angeles, followed by collaborations with press agencies in France covering celebrities, as well as work in cinema and politics.

Each stage shaped his perspective, but it was street photography that brought him back to the essence of the medium.

His approach is rooted in honesty—capturing life as it unfolds, without filters or manipulation—focusing on people, light, gestures, and fragments of everyday stories.

He embraces unpredictability, allowing instinct to guide his work, understanding that the street constantly offers unexpected moments beyond intention.

Tadashi Onishi

Japan

Born in Tokyo, Japan. Photographing the cityscape and street life combined with social nature to find common ground between the street and documentary photography in Tokyo. He shoots the street every morning and every night in Shinjuku on the way to work/home.
